The owners of the plot wanted to conceive an architectural concept that is flexible in time and that can function as a single or multi-family home. A vertical division makes this possible. The basic volume of the house is conceived as a thoughtful placement of two volumes on top of each other. On the ground floor there is a house with a garden at the rear. The volume that was placed transverse to it comprises the second residential unit which has a garden at the front. In the option of the single-family house, this volumetricity still works and in both cases the volumetricity fully responds to the landscape environment in which the plot is located. The house makes a serene impression and opens up completely to the surrounding green landscape. The aim was to have a sustainable character and this is emphasized by the chosen construction principle. The entire structure is constructed in such a way that all interior walls are non-load-bearing and are therefore part of the flexible concept. We can speak of sustainability in the broad context of the word, or social sustainability.
